Bed Bug Detection

How do you know if you have bed bugs?

There are several ways to determine if you have bed bugs. The most obvious is if you get bitten, but by then it’s too late. A better way is to have Bed Bug Monitors installed as a preventative measure.

There are two types of Bed Bug Monitors; Active and Passive.

The Passive Bed Bug Monitors are used as part of an ongoing maintenance program for properties like bed and breakfast and hotels, but equally can be used in domestic situation. They are small and discrete and are placed under beds. They are inspected weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

The Active Bed Bug Monitors are placed where a possible infestation exists, or in other rooms where a treatment is underway on a know infested room. They contain heat generating pads which mimic the body temperature of a sleeping person. The Bed Bugs then get caught on a glue board surface.
